BY BART
From San Francisco take the Pittsburg/Bay Point or Richmond line.
From the northern East Bay take the SF/SFO, Fremont, or the SF/Milbrae line.
From the southern East Bay take the Richmond line.
Get off the train at the City Center/12th Street Station and exit the station toward 11th Street (heading south), using the escalator on the right. At the top you will be on Broadway facing the Marriott Hotel; walk straight ahead, crossing 11th, 10th and 9th Streets.
BY CAR
From San Jose, Fremont, Hayward and San Leandro drive north to Oakland on 880. Take the “Downtown Oakland” exit which becomes 6th Street. Turn right on Broadway, then left onto 8th Street and begin to look for parking.
From Berkeley, Richmond and San Francisco drive toward Oakland on 80, exit to 580, then to 980 (just past the Highway 24 exit). Exit 980 at the “12th Street” exit, then turn left onto 11th Street. Continue 4 blocks then turn right onto Broadway and right again onto 8th Street and begin to look for parking.
From Concord, Walnut Creek and Orinda take Highway 24 through the Caldecott Tunnel. Follow the signs to 980 toward Downtown Oakland. Exit 980 at the “12th Street” exit, then turn left onto 11th Street. Continue 4 blocks then turn right onto Broadway and right again onto 8th Street and begin to look for parking.
Parking
Paid parking is available on neighborhood streets with a 2 hour limit (except on Broadway where the limit is 1 hour). Don’t let the lack of meters fool you, parking is not free, but is paid for at the parking kiosks. You then place the receipt on your car’s dashboard. The kiosk machines accept coins, bills and credit/debit cards. Two parking lots are also nearby: Central Parking Systems at Broadway and 8th Street, which accepts coins, bills or credit card; and the attended Old Oakland Parking at 8th and Washington (one block west of Broadway) which accepts cash only. ADA parking is only available in these 2 lots, the Old Oakland lot being immediately adjacent to our building.
One other consideration, should your appointment be on Friday, the Old Oakland Farmer’s Market is held every Friday morning/early afternoon and closes 9th Street (between Broadway and Clay Street) and Washington Street (between 8th and 10th Street) and subsequently reduces the available parking in the neighborhood.
Our Entrance
The entrance to our building is the red-painted, double doors on Broadway near 9th Street. We are at 827 (the number is in the transom window above the doors) on the west side of the street and the doors are located between “Site for Sore Eyes” and “Chicago Title”. Immediately inside the door you will find a staircase to the second floor directly in front of you. If you prefer, there is an elevator located at the end of the corridor to the right. When you reach the second floor we are in Suite 200, which is located near the top of the stairs and the elevator.
